A24’s The Moment has begun shooting in London and is set to star a cavalcade of Hollywood stars as well as Charli xcx.

Fresh off of winning three Grammys for her 2024 album Brat, Charli xcx is now in London filming A24’s mystery project The Moment, as reported by Screen Daily. A24 has been particularly quiet about the project, which was announced in January 2025 and no plot details have been made officially available but Screen Daily has heard rumours that the film is about a pop star preparing for their first tour.

Charli xcx will be joined by Alexander Skarsgård, Rosanna Arquette, Trew Mullen, Isaac Cole Powell, Rish Shah, Kate Berlant and Jamie Demetriou in the film. Aidan Zamiri, who has directed several music videos for Charli xcx as well as FKA Twigs and Billie Eilish among others, is directing and co-writing the script with Bertie Brandes.

The Moment is reportedly based on an original idea by Charli xcx. The film will be the first film from her company Studio 365 and she’s also got producing credit on The Moment. The singer is also set to appear in Gregg Araki’s I Want Your Sex, Daniel Goldhaber’s Faces Of Death and Julia Jackman’s 100 Nights Of Hero.

Charlie xcx spoke to Variety in December about her career and the talk naturally turned to her move to the big screen. “Everything’s been relatively small, and I’m enjoying learning about being on a set and learning from great directors and actors,” she told the outlet. “I hate it when musicians dive into a different field, head-first, without really researching or learning much of anything about it. So I did a lot of reading to educate myself over the past three or four years before I actually did anything.”

There’s no word on when The Moment might be making its way to cinemas but we’ll let you know once there’s an update.
