Micheal Keaton, Maggie Q & Samuel L Jackson feature, in a movie directed by Casino Royale and GoldenEye’s Martin Campbell.
The first trailer has arrived for The Protege, an action movie which possesses plenty of the separate elements to be something really quite fun. Maggie Q stars, but you also get some Michael Keaton, some Samuel L Jackson and some Robert Patrick for your money, all set to a great Amy Winehouse track.
Furthermore, the film is directed by Martin Campbell who gave us one of the most transformative action flicks of recent years in the form of Casino Royale (and GoldenEye and The Mask Of Zorro before that).
The film is being released by Lionsgate, who knows a thing or two about taking these lower budget action vehicles and making hits out of them. Filming for the movie ran through 2020 and took place in London, Bucharest and Da Nang. The film is set to hit the US on August 20th but no release details have yet been issued for the UK.

Anna is an assassin raised by Moody after he discovered her in the aftermath of a massacre in Saigon. For years, they traversed the globe and completed high-profile contracts. But when he is murdered, Anna must return to Vietnam to track down his killer, and, in the process, teams up with a mysterious figure from her past to bring the killer to justice.
