Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne headline The Good Nurse, a story of medicine and murder, here’s the first trailer.

Corruption and murder in a hospital setting is nothing new, from Jed Mercurio’s terrific BBC drama Bodies to the underrated 1989 film Paper Mask, in which Paul McGann impersonates a Doctor (not to be confused with The Doctor, who he would go on to play in 1996).

This brings us to The Good Nurse. The official synopsis reads as follows:

Amy, a compassionate nurse and single mother struggling with a life-threatening heart condition, is stretched to her physical and emotional limits by the hard and demanding night shifts at the ICU. Help arrives when Charlie Cullen, a thoughtful and empathetic fellow nurse, starts at her unit. While sharing long nights at the hospital, the two develop a strong and devoted friendship, and for the first time in years, Amy truly has faith in her and her young daughters’ future. But after a series of mysterious patient deaths sets off an investigation that points to Charlie as the prime suspect, Amy is forced to risk her life and the safety of her children to uncover the truth.

Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne headline the film as Amy and Charlie, respectively, alongside Nnamdi Asomugha, Noah Emmerich and Kim Dickens.

Another Round writer Tobias Lindholme directs from a screenplay by Last Night In Soho co-writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns, based on the book by Charles Graeber.

The Good Nurse, will be released via Netflix on the 26th October. Watch the trailer below…
