Justin Simien’s 1980s horror satire of racist beauty norms, Bad Hair, is getting a UK cinema release in November – here’s the trailer.
Distributor, Picturehouse have announced that horror-satire, Bad Hair, will be getting a theatrical release. Furthermore, we’ve also got a trailer to enjoy. The 80s set film from writer/director Justin Simien follows an ambitious young go-getter who gets a hair weave in order to help with a flourishing career in music television. Things take a turn for the weird when she realises that the hair piece may actually have a mind of its very own.
Simien previously made Dear White People, which in turn was adapted into a television show. Bad Hair stars Vanessa Williams, Lena Waithe, Laverne Cox, Kelley Rolland and Usher.
It’s apparently going straight to streaming platform Hulu in the US (which is why the release date is different in the trailer to the one we’ve reported) but thankfully, we are getting a full theatrical release. Check out the trailer below for more details.
