Venom: The Last Dance is nearly with us, as Tom Hardy reprises the lead role. And hereā€™s the final trailer for the film.

Venom: The Last Dance is coming in October and we have one final opportunity to take in all of the wackiness on display before the film hits cinemas. Six years on from the 2018 original and the 2021 sequel, Let There Be Carnage, Hardy reprises the role for the third (and seemingly final) time in this October’s Venom The Last Dance.

Actor and filmmaker Kelly Marcel (who wrote the last two instalments) is in the directorā€™s chair this time round and the trailer, like the title, seems to suggest that this could well be Tom Hardyā€™s swansong as Eddie Brock.

Still, if Hardy is bowing out of the franchise (to be replaced by another host for the gravelly-voiced symbiote weā€™d imagine, as long as the filmā€™s box office is strong enough), then he looks to be going out with a bang rather than a whimper.

Thereā€™s high-altitude plane surfing, horse-possessing and the promise of the Venom symbioteā€™s creator returning to find its offspring. Oh, and we get Stephen Graham in there too.

The plot seems to involve the discovery of more alien symbiotes by military scientists, represented by Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor, and it’s hinted that Graham may play one of the more monstrous enemies Brock and Venom will face in the movie.

Sonyā€™s universe of Spider-Man characters has become a bit of a punchline following mass critical rejection of films such as Madame Web and Morbius. The studio will be desperately hoping that the upcoming Venom: The Last Dance and Kraven The Hunter (out in December) can reverse that trajectory before the whole endeavour gets sucked into a black hole of ridicule and memes from which it canā€™t escape.

Venom: The Last Dance is out in UK cinemas on the 25th October 2024.
