A cute little girl in a tutu turns out to be a bloodsucking monster. Here’s the new Abigail trailer.

In Abigail, the new horror film from directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (aka Radio Silence), the kid’s not alright.

The duo behind the two latest Scream films are reuniting with Melissa Barrera for a vampire film with a delicious twist.

Take a look at the brand new Abigail trailer below, and the first trailer from back at the start of the year just below that…

Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, Angus Cloud and Kevin Durand also star in the film alongside Barrera. Matilda and Night Swim star Alisha Weir plays the titular Abigail.

This will be one of two projects released in 2024 involving Cloud, who died tragically in 2023. Abigail is heading to cinemas in April, but Cloud also stars in Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s next film, Freaky Tales with Pedro Pascal, Ben Mendelsohn and Jay Ellis.

Here’s the official synopsis for Abigail: “After a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to collect a £50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight. In an isolated mansion, the captors start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl.“

Weirdly, this isn’t the first film to feature a young ballerina with a thirst for blood. Directors Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo featured ballerina vampires in their 2011 supernatural horror film Livid, which we included in our list of 16 underrated horror films. It’s not exactly the same premise, but it is strikingly similar.

Abigail currently does not have a UK release date, but it’s hitting US cinemas on 19th April. Universal Pictures are distributing the film so we’re hoping for an update on a UK release date soon.
