A fourth film in the popular buddy cop action series Bad Boys is inbound, following 2020’s Bad Boys For Life.

According to an announcement on social media from Will Smith, it  looks like we’ll be getting more Bad Boys. Smith posted a video of himself driving to co-star Martin Lawrence’s house where his long-time Bad Boys co-star was waiting for him. The duo then announce that a fourth Bad Boys film is definitely happening.

The future of the film has been up in the air ever since Will Smith severely damaged his public image following the slap incident at last year’s Oscars ceremony. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer teased last month that the project was still happening and now it has been confirmed that the film is going into production.

There’s no release date yet announced for the film, nor do we have a title or a director. Still, the confirmation represents a positive step forwards for Smith as he looks to rebuild his career and put last year’s events firmly behind him. Emancipation, the Antoine Fuqua-released drama on Apple TV+ was the first film to release that starred Smith and the actor has garnered lots of positive praise for his performance. Another Bad Boys film being announced represents another step in the gradual rehabilitation of his career.

Whilst we don’t yet have a title, it’s unclear how they can top 2020’s Bad Boys For Life as of yet. Bad Boys For Eternity doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, does it? We’ll let you know more as we hear it.
