Tyler Perry’s latest film Six Triple Eight is coming together for Netflix, and here are the first details of the film.
The prolific Tyler Perry released two films last year . There was the critically loathed (and pictured) Madea: Homecoming, which crossed Perry’s popular Madea character with Brendan O’Carroll’s Mrs Brown. The other was A Jazzman’s Blues, a script Perry’s had been trying to make since 1995.
Now, production has begun on his next feature. Six Triple Eight will tell the true story of the only all black, all female battalion that was key to America’s success in World War Two.
Kerry Washington will star and executive produce. Other cast members in the ensemble film include Oprah Winfrey, Sam Waterston, Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, Sarah Jeffery, Pepi Sonuga and Jay Reeves Jeanté Godlock, Moriah Brown, Baadja-Lyne Odums, Gregg Sulkin, Dean Norris and Susan Sarandon.
As ever, Perry will write, direct and produce.
Six Triple Eight will be released on Netflix, no release date has yet been confirmed.
