Independent filmmaker Lisa Downs already has a collection of films to her name, where she delves into the stories of what happened to creatives after they were involved in a hit film. Movies such as Life After Flash, Life After The Navigator and Life After The Neverending Story have seen those involved talk about the making of the films, and the impact they had on their lives.
And now? Lisa is turning her attention to Goodfellas. In fact, she’s nearly there too, as she’s interviewed lots of those involved in Martin Scorsese’s 1990 mob classic. Furthermore, she’s uncovered fresh behind the scenes archive material too, and has fashioned this into a 98 minute documentary feature that’s nearly ready to go.
She’s turned to crowdfunding to get the post-production phase of the film complete, and to deal with matters such as pesky legal clearances. And you can find her Kickstarter, with a lot more details on the project, right here.
Further films are on the way too, as you can read about on Lisa’s latest Kickstarter page. She’s deep into work on Life After The Goonies and Life After Grease, and – having had a coffee with her, after she was nearly attacked by a pigeon – she’s told me one or two other things on her roster. She’s a force of nature, a movie nerd and a half, and it’s staggering how much she manages to get done.
If you’re interested in her other Life After… movies, then her webpage for her previous films – which are available on Blu-ray – can be found right here.
And I suspect further announcements of her other mischief can’t be too far away. I’ll report it as soon as I’m allowed to, and in the meantime, she’s a few thousand away from getting Goodfellas fully funded…
