It’s going to be emotional time at Pixar as the studio is set to return to the world of Inside Out in 2024. Writer-director Pete Docter’s Inside Out was a smash hit for Pixar when it was released back in 2015, taking over $850 million on a budget of $175 million. It is also regarded as a high watermark for the studio, receiving glowing reviews and near universal praise from audiences. It followed the trials and tribulations of eleven year old Riley, from the perspective of the emotions inside her head. Amy Poehler, voice of Joy, is returning for the sequel. Poehler hinted that other emotions will be included, but there is no indication of what they will be or who will voice them. Replacing Docter in the director’s chair this time around will be prolific Pixar story supervisor Kelsey Mann, in her feature directorial debut. Original screenwriter Meg LeFauve is returning to pen the script. Inside Out 2 is scheduled for release in 2024, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
