The deep lore of the John Wick movies will continue on TV with the sequel series Under The High Table, now being developed by Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski.
A decade after Keanu Reevesā assassin first started shooting men in the face at point-blank range because of what happened to his dog, the John Wick movies have grown into a mini empire. Last yearās John Wick: Chapter 4 brought the seriesā stylised violence to new aesthetic heights, and itās now been announced that a series is in development that will continue on from where that movie left off.
Called John Wick: Under The High Table, the series is currently in development at Lionsgate, with Reeves its executive producer alongside regular director Chad Stahelski.
According to Deadline, which broke the story, Stahelski will direct the pilot episode, while Robert Levine ā who co-created the thriller series The Old Man starring Jeff Bridges ā will crack on with the screenplay. The report further suggests that Under The Table will feature a mix of returning characters and new ones, though itās currently unclear whoāll come back from the movie; fan favourite Caine is a logical choice, but Donnie Yen might be a little expensive a star to rope in for a TV show.

Under The Table isnāt the first attempt at a John Wick TV show. Spin-off series The Continental: From The World Of John Wick emerged in 2023 and did well for Peacock and Prime Video in terms of streaming numbers, though the general reception from audiences and critics was cautiously positive rather than glowing.
In a February TV interview that was perhaps more candid than Lionsgate would have liked, franchise regular Ian McShane said that The Continental was made without anyone telling he or Keanu Reeves about it. In the same reason, he also talked about the extensive reshoots (or ānew shootsā as he called them) on upcoming spin-off movie Ballerina, which stars Ana De Armas. Director Chad Stahelski had been brought in to the Budapest shoot in order to shoot new scenes in order to āprotect the franchise,ā McShane said. Ballerinaās official credited director is Len Wiseman. Originally slated for release in June 2024, the new shoots delayed its appearance by a full year ā expect to see it pirouetting into cinemas on the 6th June 2025.
Elsewhere in the John Wick shooty-verse, thereās been talk of giving Donnie Yenās blind assassin Caine his own spin-off movie, while it was said last year that writing is underway on a John Wick Chapter 5 ā despite Reeves being keen to step away from the character for a time.
