Sad news: Max von Sydow has died, at the age of 90.
Here’s some really sad news. Actor Max von Sydow has passed away, at the age of 90. The news was announced by his family that he had died on Sunday.
He leaves behind an incredible body of work, that’s brought joy to many people. For me personally, he scared the living daylights out of me as Ming the Merciless in 1980’s Flash Gordon, but the sheer range of his talent is demonstrated by his body of credits. From The Exorcist and Dune through to Minority Report and The Diving Bell And The Butterfly, he appeared in a broad range of films and TV shows. He, of course, appeared in several Ingmar Bergman classics too.
In the last few years he was still busy on screen too, in the likes of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Game Of Thrones.
He’s survived by his four children, and work that will continue to give pleasure to many for a long time to come.
Rest in peace, sir. An incredible run.
