Fargo and Alien: Earth showrunner Noah Hawley is set to partner with Chris Pine for the Texan thriller, Nowhere Fast.
Bursting onto the scene as the TV showrunner behind Fargo just over a decade ago, Noah Hawley has barely put a foot wrong since. Fargo, loosely inspired by the Coen Brothersā 1996 film, spawned five acclaimed seasons, while Hawley also made a critically-admired take on the X-Men mythos with Legion.
Most recently, Hawleyās TV spin on the Alien universe lands later this year in the form of Alien: Earth. A new teaser recently dropped for that show, and weāre tremendously excited by the prospect of Hawley bringing his wit, originality and flair for thrilling narrative conceits to a series that could really benefit from some new ideas.
It looks as though Hawley is opting for a palette cleanser of sorts after Alien: Earth, as Variety is reporting that heās pivoting back into feature film directing. To this point, Hawley has made one feature film: 2019ās Lucy In The Sky which starred Natalie Portman.

His next project sounds compelling on paper. Titled Nowhere Fast, it āfollows a small-town criminal in Texas who inadvertently kills the nephew of his boss.ā Chris Pine is in place to star and additional casting is said to be under way.
We surely werenāt alone in enjoying Pineās take on a small-town Texan criminal in David Mackenzieās 2016 crime thriller, Hell Or High Water (John Woo loves it as well!) so seeing him work with Hawley on something similar-sounding is worth looking forward to.
Following the galaxy-spanning machinations of mega-corps and alien bio-weapons in Alien: Earth, a small-scale story with smaller-scale stakes will surely be the perfect return for Hawley to the kind of storytelling that launched him to renown with Fargo.
Weāll bring you more as we hear it.
