The animation house Pixar has served up a first look at its latest offering, the upcoming feature, Elemental.
You can now get your first look at Element City, the setting for Pixar’s latest animated adventure, Elemental.
Announced back in May as Pixar’s summer 2023 release, we were promised a new take on the classic ‘odd couple’ dynamic, following ‘an unlikely pair, Ember and Wade, in a city where fire, water, land and air residents live together.’
We know that know that the film will be directed by Peter Sohn who has previously helmed The Good Dinosaur and the short Partly Cloudy. Based around the idea that the elements that populate the city are naturally inclined to work well together in some cases and not in others, Sohn has cited inspiration from growing up in the cultural melting pot that was 1970s New York as one of his inspirations.
Elemental’s story ‘introduces Ember, a tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in.’
Elemental rounds out Disney’s summer 2023 slate which already includes Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 in May, The Little Mermaid remake, also in May, Indiana Jones 5 in June and Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania in July.
You can catch the trailer for Elemental below.
