Lots of classic movies are coming to a new free-to-air TV channel from Sony.
Sony has confirmed that it’s launching a new free-to-air movie channel in the UK, one that’s dedicated to classic films.
Entitled Sony Movies Classics, the aim – according to the blurb – is to celebrate “quality cinema from the ‘40s to the Noughties”. Titles cited in the press materials include
Gandhi, Kramer vs. Kramer, Oliver!, Easy Rider, Antony And Cleopatra and From Here to Eternity.
That, and movies such as The African Queen, Duck Soup, A Man For All Seasons, Play Misty For Me, Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, and The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner.
Launch day for the new channel if January 7th 2020. You’ll be able to find it on Freeview 50, Freesat 303, Sky 319 and Virgin 424.
