Harley Quinn returns to the screens in February – and Birds Of Prey isn’t going to be cut down to get the biggest audience possible.

Rest assured if you’re after your next comic book movie fix: you’ve not got long to wait. Next up the mantle is handed to Warner Bros and DC, for its incoming Birds Of Prey film.

This is the movie that brings Margot Robbie back to the role of Harley Quinn, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be toning much down either. The film has picked up an R-rating in the US, earning it for “strong violence and language throughout, and some sexual and drug material”.

The film goes by the full title of Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), with Cathy Yan directing. She’s working from a screenplay by Christina Hodson.

The movie lands in UK cinemas on February 7th.

No word yet on how the BBFC will classify it over here, but we’d suggest a 15 certificate may be on the cards.
