Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey return as Joel and Ellie in the first trailer for The Last Of Us season 2. Take a look below.
Fans of Naughty Dog’s excellent game franchise have been eagerly waiting for any news on The Last Of Us season 2. We got a brief look at season 2 when HBO released a showreel type of trailer for their upcoming shows but a proper trailer for The Last Of Us season 2 has now landed.
Take a look at the trailer below.
The trailer opens on the same scene we saw in the brief teaser in which Catherine O’Hara mystery character asks Joel about his actions, presumably referring to the events of season 1’s finale.
We then get a good look at life in Jackson, the safe haven from the infected. Bella Ramsey is back as Ellie and fans will be pleased to see a quick look at Ellie practising on her guitar with Joel.
There’s also a new look at Kaitlyn Dever as Abby. We won’t say too much about the character, but if you’re familiar with The Last Of Part II, you know she’s a somewhat controversial character. Dever’s casting was equally controversial. Many thought she wouldn’t be able to portray the character’s physicality and although we don’t see her do much in the first trailer, she is sporting Abby’s signature braid.
Hereās the logline, as provided by Sky: After five years of peace following the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up to them, drawing them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.āÆ
Just yesterday, Variety reported on game director Neil Druckmann’s comments about the series from their Strictly Business podcast. Druckmann spoke about the series’ reception and especially how the Bill and Frank episode landed with fans, hinting that we might be in for similar episodes, which differ from and expand on the game’s narrative slightly, in the new season.
“And there’s stuff in this season that I’m really excited about — stuff that we hinted at — one scene in particular comes to mind that I think fans of the game will eat up, because it really kind of tells you a lot of backstory of this important character that there wasn’t really a way for us to even do that in the game,” Druckmann said.
The Last Of Us season 2 doesn’t have an air date yet, but like season 1, it will be available on Sky Atlantic. We’ll bring you more information as we hear it.
