As The Naked Gun reaches its 35th birthday, it’s getting 4K makeover: details of its UK 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release right here.

Stand back: The Naked Gun is now a staggering 35 years old, arguably the finest outing for Leslie Nielsen’s Lieutenant Frank Drebin. Well, that or the Police Squad! TV series that it’s based on, but the majority of people we’d suggest met Drebin via this particular feature.

And now, Paramount Pictures – who has done a good job mining its catalogue for 4K physical media releases – has elected to give the movie a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release this winter. The film has been earmarked for release on the format from November 27th 2023, and initially it’s a limited edition Steelbook edition that’s going to go on sale.

Costing £29.99 – in fairness, a fair wodge of cash for a comedy that perhaps isn’t crying out for a 4K makeover – the release is available for preorder now.

You can find more information on it here, where you can also order a copy.

No news on any additional feature or anything at the moment, incidentally. Can’t imagine that anything new has been prepared for the release though.
