Classic novel The Sound Of Things Falling is heading to the screen, and here are the first details.

The Sound Of Things Falling by Juan Gabriel Vásquez is widely considered to be one of the most important Latin American novels of the century thus far. To date, it’s been translated into over 30 languages and published in 50 countries.

The novel follows Antonio Yammara, who, after witnessing the murder of the mysterious Ricardo Laverde, begins a descent into the dark heart of the Columbian drug trade in an attempt to find out who his friend really was. And now the story is coming to the movies too.

Early days for the project thus far, but we already know that House Of Gucci scribe Roberto Bentivegna will pen the screenplay and make his directorial debut, with Cristina Palacio producing. We’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
