Ishana Night Shyamalan’s debut feature The Watched is just a couple of months away. You can catch the film’s full trailer right here.

Following a brief teaser back in February, we now have a full trailer to mark the imminent release of The Watched – known as The Watchers in the US – the debut feature from Ishana Night Shyamalan, the daughter of M Night Shyamalan.

The movie is an adaptation of AM Shine’s 2022 novel of the same name. Like her father before her, Shyamalan Jr has leaned into the power of mystery when it comes to marketing her film. The blurb reads that ‘Dakota Fanning stars as Mina, a 28-year-old artist, who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night.’

Strangers. Mysterious creatures. An untouched location. The story certainly has all of the enigmatic hallmarks of a Shyamalan thriller. Let’s hope that young Night is a chip off the old block when it comes to filmmaking.

M Night Shyamalan produces the film, which also stars Georgina Campbell, Oliver Finnegan, and Olwen Fouere. The film releases on the 7th June. Speaking of M Night, the trailer for his upcoming film, Trap also released recently. M Night has talked a little bit about the project to NME in the past, stating:

“It’s a thriller. It’s very unusual and very new compared to what I’ve been trying to do [recently], but I’m feeling very excited about the story, so much so that I can’t wait to tell it to you guys. I will say this, the angle into the story is why it’s so exciting. The story might be something that you’ve seen before but the angle is very, very unique – the point of view.”

What we do know is that Josh Hartnett will star in the film as a serial killer attending a concert.
