Anna Kendrick stars in upcoming psychological thriller Alice, Darling – returning to a genre in which she excels.  Lionsgate has released the trailer for the upcoming thriller, Alice, Darling, starring Anna Kendrick and directed by Mary Nighy. The film follows ‘a woman pushed to the breaking point by her psychologically abusive boyfriend.’ Nighy is making her feature directorial debut on the project, but with Kendrick in the lead role we have an actor who is very well versed in leading thrillers. A Simple Favour (in which Kendrick starred,) remains one of the best examples of the genre from recent years (a sequel to that is due in production next year), whilst we’re also really looking forward to Kendrick’s turn in The Dating Game, another thriller that was announced  a few months back. She’ll be directing that one too. The synopsis for Alice, Darling reads as follows: ‘While on vacation with two close girlfriends, Alice rediscovers her essence and gains some much-needed perspective. Slowly, she starts to fray the cords of codependency that bind her. But Simon’s vengeance is as inevitable as it is shattering – and, once unleashed, it tests Alice’s strength, courage, and the bonds of her deep-rooted friendships.’ Kaniehtiio Horn, Charlie Carrick and Wunmi Mosaku co-star in the film which was penned by Alanna Francis. The film is arriving in US cinemas at the very end of this year as part of a platformed release, whilst we are still waiting for a confirmed UK release date. Until then. you can catch the trailer below.
