Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Jesus Christ Superstar are the first Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals to head to free streaming. Following on from the news that the National Theatre is to make lots of its plays available for streaming free of charge whilst lots of us are in lockdown, Andrew Lloyd Webber has announced the launch of a new YouTube channel to do the same with his hit shows. From Friday April 3rd at 7pm, a selection of his musicals will be made available on a weekly basis, for 48 hours at a time. Things kick off with a production of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat that was staged in the West End in 2000. Donny Osmond, Maria Friedman, Richard Attenborough and Joan Collins are in the cast. Then, on Friday April 10th – fittingly for good Friday – the 2012 arena production of Jesus Christ Superstar is being launched onto the service. Tim Minchin, Melanie C and Chris Moyles lead the cast of that one. New shows will be revealed as time goes by. You can find the YouTube channel right here.
