Caitlin Cronenberg is following in her father’s footsteps with her first feature Humane, and here are the first details.

With David Cronenberg’s latest film, Crimes Of The Future, arriving this year (and inevitably not making a huge impact at the box office), Caitlin Cronenberg is following  father David and brother Brandon, recently wrapping her directorial debut Humane.

The official synopsis reads as follows:

Humane takes place over a single day months after a global environmental collapse has forced world leaders to take extreme measures to reduce the earth’s population. In a wealthy enclave, a recently retired newsman invites his four grown children to dinner to announce his intentions to enlist in the nation’s new euthanasia program. But when the father’s plan goes horribly awry, tensions flare and chaos erupts among his children.

Jay Baruchel and Emily Hampshire headline the film, alongside Peter Gallagher, Sebastian Chacon, Alanna Bale and Sirena Gulamgaus.

Cronenberg directed from a screenplay by Michael Sparaga, who also produced.
