The upcoming Amazon-backed Heads Of State will be directed by Ilya Naishuller, helmer of last year’s Nobody.
If you thought that the incessant bickering between Idris Elba and John Cena’s respective characters was one of the best things about James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, you’re probably not alone. It looks like that ‘odd couple’ dynamic is getting transplanted onto a new project, an action comedy going by the name of Heads Of State.
Directed by Ilya Naishuller, the helmer of 2021’s Nobody, the film is said to follow two ‘unlikely partners who are in over their heads in a high-stakes situation.’
That’s all we have to go on right now, but given the director’s success with Nobody, not to mention Cena and Elba’s skills in the action (and comedy) department, and this one looks promising.
No release date has yet been announced but we’ll bring you more on Heads Of State as we hear it.
