The popular video game horror title Dead By Daylight  is getting the movie treatment, it has been revealed.

Since moving his production company Atomic Monster over to Universal to partner with Jason Blum’s Blumhouse we can imagine that James Wan has been cooking up all kinds of horrific delights, doubly so now that he’s working with Blum. The duo have a few other projects in the pipeline but they’ve now announced that a film adaptation of Dead By Daylight is coming.

Dead By Deadlight is a multiplayer survival horror video game in which one player is a supernatural killer who must gruesomely murder the other human players. The aim of the humans is to work together to survive and escape. The title is probably best known for licensing all kinds of classic movie monsters into the game, allowing you to play monsters such as Freddy Kreuger, Pinhead and Leatherface.

No writer or director have been announced yet, but in the wake of The Last Of Us’ stunning success on HBO, we can imagine that lots of studios are flipping through lists of survival horror video games to see what has yet to be optioned. We’ll bring you more on this one as we hear it.
