Polite Society sees an aspiring stuntwoman pitted against her soon-to-be-in-laws when her sister meets a suspicious wealthy guy.

Universal’s Polite Society follows the teenage Ria (Priya Kansara), who dreams of being a stuntwoman. She’s close to her artist sister Lena (Umbrella Academy's Ritu Arya), but their relationship becomes strained when she meets and quickly becomes engaged to a wealthy man. When Ria becomes suspicious of his motives, she gets her friends to help with some elaborate heists to stop the wedding.

Directed by We Are Lady Parts creator Nida Manzoor, the film has an action-packed new trailer that showcases its over-the-top martial arts fight choreography and the fierce spirit of its protagonist.

The movie is described as “a merry mash up of sisterly affection, parental disappointment and bold action,” and it seems we’ll be getting a fun mixture of action, comedy and family drama as the film deals with a teenage protagonist struggling to live up to her family’s expectations.

Between the obvious enthusiasm of the actors and the action scenes, this looks like it’ll be a fun time at the cinema.

Here’s the trailer:

Polite Society is in cinemas from 28th April.
