The multiplex cinemas opening around the UK this weekend

Here’s a list of the multiplex cinemas in England that will be opening their doors from Saturday 4th July. As per government guidance, cinemas in England are permitted to open fromt his weekend, having shut their doors in the middle of March as the Coronavirus pandemic took hold. That said, there’s not much in the way of new films to show at the moment, with the schedule instead made up primarily of re-releases. Major new releases have now shifted to August at the earliest. Still, some multiplexes are opening their doors, and here’s the full list of the sites we know of that will be open as from tomorrow. Note that only cinemas in England are thus far permitted to open. Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales cinemas are a few weeks behind at least. Here’s the current state of chains in England… Empire  No announcement yet on re-opening. Showcase Peterborough Leeds Liverpool Bluewater Teesside Reading Newham Nottingam (from Friday 10th July, Showcase will open its Southampton, Derby, Bristol, Bristol Avonmeads, Derby Foresters Park, Walsall and Dudley sites) Cineworld & Picturehouse All sites closed until at least July 31st Vue All sites closed until at least July 31st Odeon The following open this weekend.
