The Wonder examines the effects of Ireland’s Great Famine, and Florence Pugh takes the lead: trailer here.

Florence Pugh is having quite the year. Currently filming the sequel to Dune, the troubled production of Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling is still the subject of much speculation.

Now, we have the first trailer for her next film The Wonder, which will follow “English Nightingale Nurse Lib Wright, who is called to a devout community in the Irish Midlands to examine 11-year-old Anna, who claims to have not eaten for four months, surviving on “manna from heaven.” Lib is determined to find out what’s really going on as Anna’s health deteriorates”

Pugh will play Lib, alongside Kila Lord Cassidy as Anna. Rounding out the cast are Tom Burke, Niamh Algar, Elaine Cassidy, Toby Jones, Ciarán Hinds, Dermot Crowley, Brían F. O’Byrne and David Wilmot.

Sebastián Lelio directed the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Alice Birch and Emma Donoghue, based on her novel of the same name.

The Wonder will be released via Netflix on the 16th November. Watch the trailer below…
