Joker 2 star Lady Gaga has reportedly joined the already-impressive cast actors confirmed for Netflix show’s second season of Wednesday.
The second season of Wednesday is on the way, and several talented new faces have already been added to the show’s roster to ensure that it builds on the success of its predecessor. We’ve already learned that Thandiwe Newton and Billie Piper will be joining the action, but according to Entertainment Weekly, Lady Gaga is now set to join the Wednesday ensemble too.
No details are forthcoming about the actor’s role, so we’re hoping this isn’t a blown-up story over a fleeting cameo. Given that Gaga has put in an award-winning turn on TV’s American Horror Story, not to mention starring in A Star Is Born and this year’s Joker: Folie à Deux, we’re hoping the creatives behind the show have signed the actor up for a sizeable part, but we’re going to have to wait and see on that front.
The show’s second season is currently filming in Europe and is said to feature more horror elements than we saw in its first run. With an Uncle Fester spin-off show also reportedly in the works, Netflix is certain to be spending large sums on this series in the hope that it can replicate the phenomenal success and cultural noise created by the show’s 2022 debut.
Jenna Ortega and Tim Burton are riding high at the moment as a creative duo, not to mention lots of other Burton collaborators who were crucial to the success of both Netflix’s Wednesday show and this year’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. That list includes (but isn’t limited to) composer, Danny Elfman, writers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, and editor, Jay Prychidny. But there are lots more folks that were crucial to both productions landing with audiences in the way that they did.
Along with Ortega and the newly-added talent, Gwendoline Christie, Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones are all set to return. The show is expeced to release in 2025, most likely in the latter part of the year. We’ll bring you more news on Wednesday as we hear it.
