A Quiet Place 3 is waiting for John Krasinski to complete work on the new Jack Ryan film – and the movie is entering development.
Three films into the franchise, there’s not been a bad A Quiet Place movie. Conversely, neither A Quiet Place Part II or A Quiet Place: Day One lived up to the excellent original movie. Penned by Bryan Woods and Scott Beck (who recently directed the hugely enjoyable Heretic) along with John Krasinski (who made his directorial debut with the movie), A Quiet Place arrived in 2018 and made a fair chunk of cash.
Producer Brad Fuller has been involved in the series since day one, and in conversation with The Direct, he’s confirmed that work us underway on A Quiet Place 3. This will be closer to the first two films than Day One, and the hold-up is getting space on John Krasinski’s docket.
Krasinski, who wrote and directed last year’s IF, is currently in the UK shooting the new Jack Ryan movie, that’s heading into cinemas in due course (2026 seem the likely release year for the film).
As Fuller – who we spoke to ourselves here – told The Direct, “he’s so in demand, and it’s hard to get him.”
When he’s done with Jack Ryan though? Fuller is hoping his attention turns in the direction of A Quiet Place 3. “We all want to finish that trilogy,” he says, “and I’m hopeful that there’s even more Quiet Place movies beyond that.”
There’s a lot of gaps to fill in there, clearly, not least where the plot goes, who’s going to be in it (Emily Blunt is a decent guess) and whether John Krasinski will want to come back to direct again. Still, the intent is clearly to make more A Quiet Place, and to do some kind of direct follow-up. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more about it.
We’ll whisper it though, obviously. We’re not bloody idiots.
