Here’s a welcome surprise. Over the summer, a leak of upcoming Disney-released 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray titles popped up online, with the likes of Con Air, National Treasure and The Rock on there.
Absolutely not on that list though were Die Hard 2: Die Harder and Die Hard With A Vengeance, but just in time for Christmas, those two films are coming to the 4K format for the first time. Plus, the original film is getting a 4K reissue and a new Steelbook too. Much to get through here.

First up, then, Die Hard 2, which has lost the ‘Die Harder’ subtitle on the artwork as usual, but we know it belongs there. Arriving on 7th December, it comes with a commentary track from director Renny Harlin as well as deleted scenes.
You can find the standard 4K disc release here.
And there’s a Steelbook option as well, that’s up for order here.

The more summer-focused Die Hard With A Vengeance, which pairs Bruce Willis’ John McClane with Samuel L Jackson against Jeremy Irons, arrives on the same day.
This comes with a commentary track from director John McTiernan and writer Jonathan Hensleigh, as well as an alternate ending and a bunch of featurettes.
The standard 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray of Die Hard With A Vengeance is up for order here.

Of the Die Hard franchise now, three of the four films are now available on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc, and also absent is the fifth film that bears the series’ name of which we don’t talk.
The original Die Hard was released on 4K disc some time ago now, before Disney bought up Fox. That was back in 2018, but now it’s getting a reissue too on the same day. The standard release of Die Hard is here, and the new Steelbook is here.
All are up for order now. Ho ho ho…
