Christopher Nolan’s 2010s movies Inception and Interstellar are getting new, deluxe physical media release, with 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Steelbooks.

A pair of Christopher Nolan movies, the identities of which have been entirely given away by the headline to this article, are getting another physical media release. This time, aiming to appeal to collectors by both popping up in new Steelbooks.

The films in questions – stand by to be surprised – are 2010’s Inception and 2014’s Interstellar – two huge standalone hits that it’s hard to imagine anyone else managing to get through the Hollywood studio system. Both have been released on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray before, but now we’re getting Steelbook versions of those releases too.

The Inception Ultimate Collectors Edition with Steelbook, as it’s known, comes with the previous 4K release, plus a poster, postcards, character bookmarks and the posh new packaging. A Blu-ray joins the 4K disc in the box, to carry over previous extra features too.

You can find more information on the release, and order a copy, here.

It’s a similar drill for Interstellar, which also comes with a 4K disc and a Blu-ray in the set. That means it’s the same physical media release at heart, just with Steelbook packaging. On top of that, a poster, postcards, and a booklet with production notes as well.

You can find more on the Interstellar set right here, and again, you can order it too.

The release date for both of these new Steelbooks is 18th September 2024, and they’re each selling for £40 apiece. Given the filmmaker and the limited nature of the releases, they’re likely to sell out really rather quickly.

Don’t worry if you miss out, though, and aren’t too fussed about the nice packaging. The regular 4K discs of both films remain in regular supply, and will be for the foreseeable future.
