Martin Scorsese’s Raging Bull is returning to over 100 UK cinema screens with a 4K restoration later this year.

There’s a strong argument that if you’re looking for the best performance of Robert De Niro’s hugely impressive acting career, you need to be turning your head in the direction of Martin Scorsese’s Raging Bull.

The 1980 movie, that naturally enough was locked out of most of the Oscars it went for, is a genuine masterpiece. A biopic of boxer Jake LaMotta, the stories behind the making of the film are extraordinary. The film itself wears its classic tag with justification.

If you’ve not had the pleasure of the movie, then here might be something to tip you towards it: it’s returning to UK cinemas in April. Park Circus will be releasing a 4K restoration of the film on over 100 UK cinema screens. That release is set to take place on Friday 14th April, and we suspect – although don’t know for certain – that there’s a fresh physical media release not far behind.

Expect pre-booking to be made available soon. Hopefully, they’ll line up The King Of Comedy next…
