More and more actors turn into directing and are very good at it, too. The latest to do that is Joseph Millson, a face very familiar for Brits. Millson has crafted a long career in film and TV, but is now making his directorial debut with Signs Of Life.

Millson has also written the script for Signs Of Life and has brought in actors Sarah-Jane Potts and David Ganly to help him tell this emotional story of human resilience.

Signs Of Life has already done the festival rounds and has been very well received. The film had its premiere at the London Independent Film Festival where it was named the best feature film of the lot.
Here’s the official synopsis: Struck dumb by a dangerous cycle of depression and grief, Anne (Sarah-Jane Potts) attempts to shift her life by taking herself on a cheap holiday. She hopes to find peace, beauty and perspective, but on arrival she’s met with noise, squalor and danger! Forced to sleep rough in an unknown place, a chance encounter with another solo traveller (David Ganly) offers her an unexpected solution and a chain of surprising and often hilarious events unfold between these two strangers which will either heal them or cause them to crumble completely.
It looks like Millson might be going straight for our feelings with this one. We suspect hankies might be needed. Signs of Life is in select cinemas 5 September from Bulldog Film Distribution. If you’re able to, do go and support it.
