Marvel star Simu Liu has been cast as the villain in Netflix film Atlas – he stars alongside Jennifer Lopez and Sterling K Brown.
After starring in Marvel’s Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings, Simu Liu has landed his first villainous role in Netflix sci-fi Atlas. The film is set to be directed by Brad Peyton – who’s best known for Dwayne Johnson-starring films Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, San Andreas, and Rampage. Aron Eli Coleite,writer of Netflix series Locke & Key, is penning the latest draft of the script.
The film is named after its heroine, Atlas, who is fighting for the future of humanity in a world where an AI soldier has decided to end the human race. To best this rogue soldier, Atlas must work together with the thing she hates and fears, another AI.
Jennifer Lopez is set to star in the movie, in addition to Sterling K. Brown and Abraham Popoola.
Also among Liu’s upcoming projects is Greta Gerwig’s Barbie film, as well as romantic drama One True Loves and Arthur The King with Mark Wahlberg. He’s certainly up to a lot at the moment.
