The upcoming film, which stars Michael B Jordan on double duty, will be called Sinners. A trailer is set to follow next month.

One film high on our radar is Ryan Coogler’s vampire horror coming next year, courtesy of Warner Bros. Filming’s complete and is reportedly about to get a test screening next week, with a trailer following in October. As things come together, details about the project have emerged and it all sounds very interesting indeed.

The film is called Sinners and is said to be set in the Jim Crow-era Deep South of the US. According to CBM, the film will be a vampire flick but may 'not just involve vampires but also other Southern supernatural traditions.’ The latest information also confirms that star, Michael B Jordan will indeed be playing twin brothers. A rumour broke recently suggesting that this would be the case, but Sinners' synopsis confirms this:

‘Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.’

Here’s the rest of the cast: Delroy Lindo, Hailee Steinfeld, Wunmi Mosaku and Jack O’Connell co-star in the film, with O’Connell said to be playing a racist villain. There’s some brilliant talent there and we’re excited to see what Coogler has cooked up. As one of Hollywood’s most talented directors, it’s satisfying to see him return to helming an original project after several years playing in Marvel Studio’s cinematic universe with the Black Panther series.

Coogler and Jordan have worked together on a string of successful films, including Black Panther and its sequel, 2015’s Creed and Coogler’s 2013 feature debut, Fruitvale Station. We’ll bring you more on Sinners as we hear it.
