Returning to our screens imminently is Steve Coogan in his most famous role, that of local radio DJ and occasional national broadcaster, Alan Partridge.

Following the two series of This Time With Alan Partridge, this time he’s moved on from a prime time One Show-esque chat show to a travelogue of sorts. It’s called How Are You? It’s Alan Partridge, and the synopsis for it reads:

The beloved and, to be fair, revered broadcaster returns to Britain after a year in Saudi Arabia to ask some important questions.”

The show picks up after he’s been away for a year, and as usual, has been written by Coogan, Rob Gibbons and Neil Gibbons. The Gibbons’ have also directed the programme as well.

It’s now been confirmed that the show will debut on BBC One, on Friday 3rd October 2025. Transmission time has been confirmed for 9.30pm, but also, the entire series is going to be available on BBC iPlayrer on the same day. There are six episodes to the new show in all.

Filming took place last year, when it was originally known as And Did Those Feet… with Alan Partridge. The new name came about earlier this year, and the series is expected – but not confirmed – to pick up following Alan Partridge’s memoirs.

At the point the show was announced, an Alan Partridge quote on the official press release read “I’m delighted to follow the Daily Mail’s exclusive coverage of filming and their gallery of paparazzi-style images with my own press release more or less confirming the details they’ve announced. All best, Alan.”

A useful reminder that the Daily Mail is a horror show, of course, as if one was needed.

A new image from How Are You? It’s Alan (Partridge) has also been released, and you’ll find it at the top of this article.

More as we get it.
