Well, our initial prediction – based on the trilogy’s viral website – that the trailer for The Bone Temple would emerge 28 days after the release of 28 Years Later proved to be wildly far from the mark. Sorry about that.
But anyway, rather later than we predicted (3rd September, not the 18th July) here’s the promo for director Nia DaCosta’s sequel.
Taking place immediately after 28 Years Later, it brings back characters played by Alfie Williams, Jack O’Connell and Ralph Fiennes for another tour around the Rage-ravaged British Isles.

A synopsis – which you probably shouldn’t read if you haven’t seen the first film – shared by Variety reads:
Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself in a shocking new relationship — with consequences that could change the world as they know it — and Spike’s encounter with Jimmy Crystal becomes a nightmare he can’t escape. In the world of ‘The Bone Temple,’ the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival — the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.
The new trailer once again cuts eerie imagery to a piece of archive vocal work. For the previous film’s promo, we had that chilling rendition of Rudyard Kipling’s poem, Boots. Here, we get Arthur C Clarke talking ominously about the fall of humanity. Given the tonal shift we got at the end of 28 Years Later, The Bone Temple looks more sombre than we were expecting. Though trailers can, of course, be deceptive.
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is out in UK cinemas on the 6th January 2026.
