Blade Runner 2049 is the latest to get a collectable Steelbook release, with a fresh 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray UK outing set for November.

As regular browsers of our Steelbook release list will already be aware, there’s quite a lot of repackaging going on at the moment. Existing 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release are being put into collectable Steelbook packaging in limited quantities, and reissued into the market.

The latest example of this? Denis Villeneuve’s stunning sequel, Blade Runner 2049. Long already available of 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray (and other formats, for that matter), the movie is being given a fresh Steelbook outing on 3rd November 2025 in the UK.

You can already find the listing for it here, where it’s currently – at the time of writing – still available for pre-order.

The package comes with the 4K disc, a Blu-ray (to cart over all the extra features), and a bonus disc as well. Couldn’t tell you at the moment what the bonus disc is, short of the fact that, well, there is one.

You’re likely already familiar with the film and its synopsis, but in the interests both of completion and in hitting a wordcount (hey, we’re nothing if not honest!), here’s the official description of the film:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K [Ryan Gosling], unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard [Harrison Ford], a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

It doesn’t look like you get a collection of postcards, posters and whatnot with the Blade Runner 2049 Steelbook, but countering that, it’s selling for £30, and not twice the price. The new Back To The Future re-releases, after all, are going for £50 apiece.

Bring on the Geostorm Steelbook next, please. Will happily buy that with as many posters as they want to shove into the packaging…
