1998’s Deep Impact is celebrating its 25th birthday with a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release in the UK: more here.
The first of the two-competing holy shit that’s going to hit the Earth movies that arrived in 1998, Mimi Leder’s Deep Impact is generally regarded as the more cerebral. Heck, I love Michael Bay’s Armageddon that follow a few months later, but Deep Impact is more of the grown-up out of the two.
Anyway, it’s also the first to head to the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format, marking its – ulp – 25th birthday in doing so. Paramount is putting it out on the format, and has inked in May 1st 2023 for the release. The package will include both the 4K discs and a Blu-ray as well. The Blu-ray will carry over previous extra features, including Leder’s commentary track.
You can find out more about the release, and order a copy, right here.
