If there’s been a kaiju-sized hole in your life, we’ve got great news for you. AppleTV+ has announced that Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters is heading our way on 27th February 2026.
The first season of the series followed on from 2014’s Godzilla and unveiled its story in two timelines; in one, Wyatt Russell played Lee Shaw in the 1950s and the second storyline found the same character older, played by Kurt Russell. Some great casting there, we must admit.
AppleTV+ also released a brief teaser trailer for Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters to go with the announcement. Take a look below:
Here’s where we’ll start in the second season in a bit more detail:
Season two will pick up with the fate of Monarch — and the world — hanging in the balance. The dramatic saga reveals buried secrets that reunite our heroes (and villains) on Kong’s Skull Island, and a new, mysterious village where a mythical Titan rises from the sea. The ripple effects of the past make waves in the present day, blurring the bonds between family, friend and foe — all with the threat of a titan event on the horizon.
We’re currently been spoiled rotten with colossal monsters, with Godzilla Minus One sequel Godzilla Minus Zero currently in the works and just last year, we watched Kong and Godzilla teamed up to defeat another massive threat in Godzilla Vs. Kong: The New Empire.
Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters will release new episodes once a week from 27th February onwards. More spin-offs are being planned, but we’ll keep you updated on those.
