Director Mark Mylod’s excellent satirical thriller The Menu is streaming exclusively on Disney+ from 4th January 2023.
Like many of Searchlight Pictures’ recent cinematic releases, thriller The Menu will make its debut on the Disney+ streaming service only a couple of months after its release. It will be available to stream from 4th January.
Directed by Mark Mylod (known for his work on Succession) The Menu follows a young couple (played by Anya Taylor Joy and Nicholas Hoult) as they spend the evening dining at a very elite and exclusive established run by the famous Chef Slowik (Ralph Fiennes). As the evening gets further and further out of hand, it’s clear that Slowik has planned for the night to end with a concerning and unexpected finale.
It’s an excellent thriller on a lot of levels. The chemistry between Anya Taylor Joy and Ralph Fiennes is excellent, and they deliver biting dialogue with finesse. The script is smart, as well as darkly funny, and the supporting cast are also impressive. It’s comprised of Ozark's Janet McTeer, John Leguizamo, Hong Chau, Reed Birney and Judith Light.
It’s definitely a film that’s worth catching up on if you haven’t seen it, and one that would benefit from a rewatch if you have.
