Ahead of its release on Disney+, director David Lowery’s take on the Peter Pan story has now got its first trailer.
David Lowery has directed the upcoming live action take on Peter Pan, and the film will be heading to the Disney+ streaming platform in April. Lowery has managed to effectively zig-zag between commercially-appealing projects like Pete’s Dragon and arthouse flicks such as A Ghost Story and The Green Knight thus far, and Peter Pan And Wendy will continue that pattern.
The film looks to retread much of the classic Peter Pan story, only in a more grounded style. As the title suggests, the character of Wendy looks set to have a much more prominent role. Jude Law features as Captain Hook too, which looks like it could be a fun piece of casting.
Here’s the synopsis for the film, ahead of its release next month. You can catch the trailer below…
Peter Pan & Wendy introduces Wendy Darling, a young girl afraid to leave her childhood home behind, who meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. Alongside her brothers and a tiny fairy, Tinker Bell, she travels with Peter to the magical world of Neverland. There, she encounters an evil pirate captain, Captain Hook, and embarks on a thrilling and dangerous adventure that will change her life forever.
